Oxenwood Expands European Investment Team

Oxenwood Real Estate has expanded its European investment team with the addition of Ivan Zhang.

Zhang was vice president of acquisitions and investments at JD Property, the logistics and industrial real estate business of Chinese e-commerce giant JD.com. He spent three years at Mapletree Investments in Beijing, most recently as assistant associate director investments, where he closed acquisition and divestment deals totalling £628m.

Zhang began his career as an analyst at Cushman & Wakefield in Beijing, and later became an investment analyst at Chamrich Equity Investment Fund, where he focused on a special situation investment fund dealing with private debt and distressed property investments across major Chinese cities.

At Oxenwood, his role will grow the business’ cross-border expertise as the company continues to expand its footprint across Europe.

Stewart Little, chief executive at Oxenwood Real Estate, said: “Ivan brings with him an attractive combination of sector experience across the UK and German markets, allied with the language skills which will allow the business to work more closely with the growing number of new market entrants emanating from the Far East. His experience across both investment and portfolio management strengthens our capabilities within our target markets, and I am delighted to welcome him to the team.”

Zhang’s appointment follows that of James Ellis, who was joined Oxenwood as Head of Asset Management and Development.
