Major automotive training academy picks Power Park Nottingham for new college

The UKs largest provider of automotive apprenticeships, Skillnet is the first inward investor to take space at Oxenwood’s Power Park, Nottingham, industrial and logistics scheme.

The new training academy will be in a 33,382 sq. ft. brand new building at the six-unit development totalling just over 426,000 sq.ft of warehouse space.  The new facility will train 350 to 400 people each year, working with international automotive truck brands to deliver award winning apprenticeships. This is their first academy in the East Midlands region, a representative of Skillnet said “We chose Nottingham because of its excellent transport links which will reduce our learners travel time to reach the new training facility. Being a brand new site will allow us to design a bespoke first class automotive training facility for our customers”.

Stewart Little, CEO of Oxenwood, said: “Power Park Nottingham is an important scheme that has delivered much needed new industrial warehouse facilities in Nottingham. The scheme benefits from excellent ESG credentials, direct access to the city and the M1 Motorway, plus 6 MVA power supply across the park. We have units immediately available to lease from 33,000 sq.ft. to 146,000sq.ft ”

James Clements, Knight Frank, commented “Having been involved in the scheme from the outset, and seeing the redevelopment from old to new, we are delighted to have helped Oxenwood secure the first occupier on the estate. Supply of great quality industrial / warehouse units in the city has been constrained for years and we’re sure the rest of the park will be a success.”

The joint letting agents for the scheme are M1 Agency, Savills and CPP, the agents commented “This first letting helps to demonstrate the strong demand for high-quality, well-connected warehousing space. In this case the building will be adapted to create state of the art training workshops and teaching space for the next generation of automotive engineers. We have good levels of interest in the remaining units and hope to announce further lettings soon.”
